José Manuel is 45 years old, and is from El Consuelo, which is in the Pueblo Nuevo municipality of Estelí. He has four children, and has spent 30 years growing and producing coffee. He started working when he was 12 years old, growing basic foods, such as corn and beans, and he helped his father grow coffee. When he was 18 years old, he bought his own land, and he inherited the remainder of his land from his father. Now, he only grows coffee on his two farms, with the help of his oldest son.

He is requesting this loan to buy supplies and fertilizer, which are required to grow coffee. With this investment, he hopes that he can sell his coffee at a reasonable price, cover his costs, and generate earnings that will permit him to invest and continue this activity.
